Humanism is a joyful and positive view of life based on a concern for humanity and the natural world.  Humanists value compassion, equality and reason.  We believe in the individual’s right to freedom of choice in all the decisions between birth and death. A fundamental attitude of humanism is respect for others whatever their class, creed, race or sexuality.

Humanism is a non-religious life stance, we base our understanding of existence on scientific evidence.  We believe we have a dependence on the natural world and we have a responsibility to protect our planet and environment.

Humanist believe in the good within people and people’s welfare and happiness is at the core of what we do and the decisions we make.  We believe we have a duty of care to humanity including future generations.  Humanists try to live a good life; showing compassion to others and helping and supporting other people.  We value honesty, integrity and fairness.

Humanist believe that everyone should have equal rights and opportunities and we strive to achieve this.
