A humanist wedding ceremony is a beautiful, warm, personal occasion. It gives couples the opportunity to declare their commitment to share their lives, their hopes and their dreams in front of their family and friends.
It is a non-religious ceremony that very much has the couple at the heart of it. I’m registered on the HSE list of solemnisers in Ireland so once the couple have their Marriage registration form, which is issued by the HSE, I can legally marry them on the day.
I meet every couple well in advance of their wedding day to discuss the ceremony. Before the meeting I’ll email the couple a booklet of wedding ceremony ideas including readings, songs and rituals. At the meeting we discuss what the couple would like to include in the ceremony and afterwards I design a personalised script which I email to them to review. I then work with the couple until the script is finalised.
A wedding day is an extremely special occasion and the ceremony should be tailored around the couple. It should be a meaningful, romantic and memorable celebration. I work alongside the couple to achieve this for their unique and inclusive ceremony.
